Jenny McCarthy on Co-Hosting Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve: "All Bets Are Off"

Jenny McCarthy, New Year's Rockin Eve Jenny McCarthy says "all bets are off" when she co-hosts Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin Eve with Ryan Seacrest this time. "[I'm] literally winging it," McCarthy tells TVGuide.com. "What I learned from last year was that I don't need to prepare as much as I thought I did. The cameras go on, they yell at you in your [ear piece] and all bets are off ... if I'm having fun everyone else is having fun." See the best of 2011 in television and movies McCarthy, 39, will return to NY City's Times Square, but this year's countdown show will be extra sentimental with a two-hour prime-time special marking the program's 40th anniversary. "That's a bit of nostalgia viewers will get to experience," she says. And there's of course the heart-tugging aspect of the 82-year-old Clark, who started the show, himself continuing to anchor the countdown show in the wake of his stroke several years ago. Check out photos of Jenny McCarthy Among this year's lineup of performers are Lady Gaga, Justin Bieber, Pitbull and Hot Chella Rae. McCarthy says she's most excited to see what Gaga is going to wear. And Bieber? "I'm sure all those kids that can't go out on New Year's Eve will have so much fun watching him perform," she says after a pause. New Year's Rockin' Eve: The 40th Anniversary Party airs Saturday at 8/7c on ABC; Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve with Ryan Seacrest then airs 11:30/10:30c. In between there's Dick Clark's Primetime New Year's Rockin' Eve with Ryan Seacrest at 10/9c.

Kino Lorber Acquires 'Putin's Kiss' Documentary

Replacing Elizabeth Shue with Jonah Hill can't be anyone's idea of an upgrade, but the former's spunky Adventures in Babysitting innocence would be a couple of notches too nice for The Sitter, David Gordon Green's attempt to infuse the 1987 film's setup with the grit and strangeness of other up-all-nighters by Scorsese and Demme. The fusion works far better than Green's sword-and-sandal-and-stoners dud Your Highness, but is unlikely to connect with audiences like his previous '80s riff Pineapple Express.our editor recommendsSeducing Charlie Barker: Film ReviewSherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows: Film Review Hill plays loser Noah Griffith, who facilitates a rare night out for his divorced mom by babysitting her friend's three children -- any one of whom would be more than he can handle. A coddled neurotic, a wannabe celebutante, and a Salvadoran foster kid who loves blowing things up, the three adolescent nightmares hint at how broadly screenwriters Brian Gatewood and Alessandro Tanaka will draw characters throughout the film, particularly when it comes to African-Americans. Hill's character may be less thin than the rest, but little effort is put into convincing us he'd make the series of dumb decisions The Sitter requires in order to keep him running through Manhattan and Brooklyn in the wee hours. A transparently dishonest phone call from Marisa (Ari Graynor) is all it takes to make Noah pack the kids into a stolen minivan and go in search of the cocaine he thinks will convince Marisa to have sex with him. (Where, we wonder, are the siblings supposed to wait during this couple's tender moment?) Before the night's out, he'll be responsible for two stolen cars, a pocketful of diamonds, a few demolished bathrooms and enough wasted coke to turn a pool table snow white. In the midst of the familiar hijinks and confrontations that get between Noah and satisfaction, one is weird enough to remember: Sam Rockwell's "Karl with a K," a gregarious gangster who packs his drugs in dinosaur eggs and hires effeminate bodybuilders as enforcers, isn't really new territory for the actor, but Rockwell gets more than his share of the film's laughs hamming through it. Hill shows less snark and agitation than usual here, and the restraint serves him well during the one sequence -- Noah counseling a kid who doesn't yet know he's gay -- in which the movie actually cares more about believability than retro affectations. All things considered, though, the kids would be a lot better off with Elizabeth Shue. Glee Visits Sectionals: Ranking the Tales and Tunes of "Keep 16"

Glee Credit where credit arrives: For just about any competition episode, it had been a significant darn good hour of Glee, almost obliterating last year's NY Excellent out of your minds. Fogged headlights went reduced Tuesday's large Sectionals showdown, "Keep 16": Mike returned to McKinley to help New Directions beat the Troubletones and acquire Mercedes back (along with his stripper-honed body comes). Tina made a decision arrived to acquire Mike's father aboard along with his son's future inside the arts. Sebastian told Kurt to organize as they wants themselves some Blaine. Finn confessed he was jealous of Blaine and apologized for throwing a great deal 'tude his way. Mike, Shelby and Rachel forced Quinn from her funk. The Completely New Directions triumphed at Sectionals, as well as the Troubletones made the decision to re-join the crowd. So, let's rate the tales and tunes: Sam's ab-tastic comeback. Departing the washboard out, it absolutely was nice to find out him back, nice to find out him have a very grown-up conversation along with his parents about being hit by hard occasions, and not so nice to hear him sing "Red-colored-colored Solo Cup" (see below). Fortunately, because we didn't notice last season, there also appears being some real chemistry between Mike and Mercedes. By our estimate, he's already drenched the same screentime along with her as Shane. (Where was super encouraging boyfriend Shane throughout Sectionals anyway? Did he have a game title title?) Really the only component that may have assigned it well will be a Sean Connery impression. Grade: B "Red-colored-colored Solo Cup" A novelty song about consuming beer making even Toby Keith pause. Really, Glee? It is not a great performance! It's especially disappointing this really is Sam's large comeback song after he proven his excellent aptitude for R&B and pop tunes like "Billionaire" and "Baby" all last season. (Does nobody miss the Attacking Youthful Boys Experience?) When Mike later quotes John Mellancamp's "Jack and Diane" to Quinn, we should question why that wasn't his large solo. Grade: F- Sebastian is... still here. Shut up, Sebastian! Sorry, knee-jerk reaction. Why don't you-sexy Warbler guy still around? Must he talk in forced, gross come-ons? Can't Kurt and Blaine drink coffee elsewhere? Can't Kurt tell Blaine: "This individual is actually annoying, will we Not pals with him? All he's doing is flirt very poorly! Kthxbai!" Grade: ) Finn and Blaine call a truce. It takes a sizable guy to forgive Blaine to become so darn peppy it's cloying. Nobody could blame Finn to become annoyed. He's juggling an uncertain publish-grad future and possibly-probably losing Rachel, who can't go one episode without needing to say NYADA. The show could give Blaine an problem or two, but we like to seeing Finn rally. It's what he's doing best. (No less than we have reached determine Blaine possess a punch from someone. Thanks, Mike!) Grade: B Mike's father gives Tina possible check (they doesn't take). The positive thing of Tina's visit with Mike's father? His trying to provide her possible check: Work inside the arts is tough. Failure is routine. Ultimately, Glee is about several kids in Ohio pursuing their dreams, however, if they get people awaken calls, it's heartbreaking stuff. No hard feelings that Tina and Mike will probably choose this anyway - and ultimately with support from Mr. Chang. Because sometimes, you need to choose this. Grade: A- "Buenos Aires" Does it strike others as odd this whole glee club is okay with letting just one artist hog the spotlight a great deal? This performance is virtually a solo by getting an additional-many perfectly-choreographed back-up ballroom ballroom dancers, but it's type of logical for those who have someone like Harmony (also called Rachel and Kurt's NYADA rival and real-existence Glee Project finalist Lindsay Pearce), take advantage of her for individuals she's worth - especially around the large Broadway number. Grade: B "I'll Survive/ Survivor" This must be one of the better mash-ups of the year (and - dare I believe that - Glee history) if this involves both song match-up and other styles. Santana's and Mercedes kill it again. Really the only component that throws? The arm-flying choreography. No less than there's a too-sweet shot of Santana and Brittany tangoing. Grade: B+ "ABC" Tina, one of the only remaining women in New Directions, can get her due here, which is welcome because we remember her undertake "Dog Days Have Left,In . plus it was awesome but wasted in last season's overcrowded Sectionals (which used "I've had duration of My Existence," "Valerie" as well as the Warbler's "Hey Soul Sister" competing rather.) "ABC" is upbeat enough, as well as, since Mike is becoming the most popular entertainers, we're happy relating to this. Nevertheless it all felt a wee bit risk-free, regardless of the boys busting out people body comes Mike introduced with him from Kentucky. (Kurt originates up to now from his awkward dancing throughout "Animal" last season.) Grade: B "Control" OK, frightening, sadistic Quinn, let's calm it lower while using crazy eyes. Are you currently presently trying to intimidate the idol idol judges into voting for completely new Directions? Because that is not the way it works. Though Artie finally can get his time to shine, the song is just Appropriate for that audience. The energy is strange also it doesn't appear like "Control" is particularly well-suitable for anyone's voice or dance moves. Surely they may have considered Jesse Jackson's other tunes? Grade: C "Guy inside the Mirror" Dear Glee bosses, take note of techniques carefully Puck's voice and dance moves resemble Michael Jackson's for your tribute episode later this season. Ditto Artie, who we understood would kill it. Beyond Pucky Puck's (we've good "Good Shake" recollections) capacity to moonwalk like its 1988, this song is the most effective in the three for completely new Directions. Undeniably effective, wonderful harmonies, and great showcase for your boys. Grade: A- New Directions wins Sectionals. They deserved it for "Guy inside the Mirror" alone. Our only want spring semester? To look for the job that switches into Regionals. By doing this Mr. Schuester may have something to accomplish (and not plan set-lists for major competitions within the last second. Or volunteer to use city council campaigns. Or let somebody that's not him direct the school musicals. It already seems like he might not necessarily be teaching The the spanish language language next season.) Grade: A Quinn's psychotic break finishes. As soon as the switch was switched, and Quinn returned to like a person, we recognized simply how much we actually love Diana Agron. And Quinn. All the authors needed to complete was treat her as being a teen and not a psycho. Quinn had wants getting away . of Ohio, too. She'd self-esteem issues. There has been various ways on her behalf to feel below componen about herself, to miss her daughter, being lost... but we digress. All is pardoned for the moment. Grade: B+ Shelby, out? Hope not, because of there being still more associated with her and Rachel once the show wanted. But we're unsure how she'll continue at McKinley (even though sleeping with Puck, we maintain, wasn't as absurd as Terri's fake pregnancy or Quinn's plan to steal her daughter back). Still, the Troubletones have re-grew to become part of New Directions, so this is often her curtain call. Grade: C "We are Youthful." Does Rachel sing a good deal relating to this show? Yes, but her pipes continued to be as greatly missed throughout Sectionals. Fortunately, she ended up being to lead this episode-ending tune, which was pretty perfect, had something for everyone and, frankly, reminded us of Season 1 group amounts which will give to us tingles, like "Somebody to likeInch and "Keep Waiting On Hold.Inch Grade: A What were your chosen amounts? Is crazy Quinn really gone? Do you want Shelby to come back? Do they really ever find something for Mr. Schuester to accomplish? Reveal know very well what you thought inside the comments below.

Amazing Race's Andy and Tommy: We Trusted Our Taxi Driver Too Much

The Amazing Race, Andy and Tommy After dominating The Amazing Race this season - winning six legs - Andy Finch and Tommy Czeschin seemed like locks for the final. But taxi luck reared its head again: As they squandered their huge lead, the cab drivers of the other three teams chatted and drove them all to the Pit Stop, ensuring that the former Olympic snowboarders will get the boot - with the dubious honor of having the highest average placement at elimination in all 19 seasons, natch. "It was definitely ironic that our lead ended up hurting us," Tommy tells TVGuide.com. "But it's true reality. Those guys were just in the right place at the right time with the right taxi drivers, and we weren't." See what else they have to say about their surprising elimination, if they got their Mustangs yet, and which team they want to race against.Amazing Race's Bill and Cathi: We were too cautious on the roadYou obviously were unaware of the group taxi driver group discussion. What was your reaction when you saw it last night?Tommy: It was crazy watching the show last night. We weren't the only ones to not figure it out off the bat. It made us feel a little better about not getting the clue the first time. Our driver was just not in the loop. Some fans think it's not fair that two teams made the final on luck, but taxi luck has always been part of the race. Andy: Yeah, taxi luck is a huge part of the race! Going into it, we knew that some taxis were better than others and that could be the end of you. In this case, it was. We told our guy to go to Balboa, and we passed through Balboa and he took us to the Panama Canal. I don't know why! [Laughs] I guess he thought we were tourists. We couldn't really communicate with him. We were just like, "I guess we got to see the Panama Canal. That's cool." I think what's really neat about this show is it shows how people deal with life. Life isn't always fair. We all know people who've had cancer and it's not fair when people get cancer. It's silly to compare that, but it's life and you've got to deal with it. ... Those teams got some extra information and took it. Good for them. We would've done the same thing if we were in the group of taxis and we didn't know where we were going. Some people might think they cheated, but they didn't do anything wrong. They followed the rules. There's nothing in the clue about the taxis talking. Why didn't you ask your cabbie to go back to the square when you saw that you were passing Balboa?Tommy: We trusted our taxi driver a little too much. He was super confident that he was going to take us where we wanted to go. But that guy had no idea. [Laughs] There was a lot lost in translation. There were times where we had taxi drivers and we didn't trust them enough. You just don't know.Amazing Race's Laurence and Zac: The U-Turn and getting lost "pushed us over the edge"How much time did you lose in total doing that?Tommy: We probably lost a good 40-45 minutes. Even at that point, I think we were within the pack, but then we made a couple more wrong directions. From there, we went to the statue of Balboa. It was like we were on a sightseeing tour. We went back to the square and then we followed the wet paint footprint to another square area, and it was just a sign that said there would be construction in the area.Did you think you were last or were you hoping other teams made the same mistake?Andy: We didn't think we were last. We knew how hard that clue was, so you just never know. There were two teams who didn't know the clue, so they could've done the same thing we did and gone on a wild goose chase. They could've driven around more than we did.How disappointing was it to get eliminated after dominating the race? Even Phil said he expected you to be in the final.Andy: There were so many things that could've taken us out earlier in the race. We were lucky we didn't get U-Turned. We just really felt like we were blessed to have gone that far. We got to go to all the places the finalists went basically. We have all the stamps in our passports. I think that's the biggest prize on this show - getting to travel the world and seeing the different places. One of the best moments was when you ran down Ernie and Cindy for first place. Tommy: Yeah! We went all out. We knew Ernie and Cindy were about five minutes ahead of us. We paced ourselves just enough to catch up with them and when we saw them, we really turned it on. That was a serious run right there, but it was worth every step.Andy: That was hard! We like Ernie and Cindy, and we have no problem sharing the wealth of winning the prizes and stuff, but you can't just give it to anybody. You've got to give it everything you have. When we saw them, there was no way we thought we could catch them. Poor Cindy, man! I don't know if they showed all the bruises she had. She had a really bad wreck with the bike taxis. She'd been through it. We felt bad running them down, but we knew we couldn't give it to them. If they beat us, great! Then they would've beaten us at us trying our best. Amazing Race's Justin and Jennifer: It was a "huge mistake" not biking backYou guys got a lot of sweet prizes. Did you get your Mustangs yet?Andy: [Laughs] We're working on that! ... I'm going black on black. How about you, Tommy?Tommy: Yeah, I mean, you've got to get a black Mustang. ... It's been super fun watching it [with our wives] and having it be a surprise. One of the times was when we were running with the beds in Africa. My wife was saying, when Justin and Jennifer checked in first, "Man, couldn't you have picked up the pace and beat them?" I was just holding it in and waiting for the classic "however" from Phil. All the trips, the cash, the Mustangs - we really felt like we ran a great race. It's awesome. I think a lot of people would agree you guys are shoo-ins for All-Stars or another Unfinished Business. Would you come back?Andy: I definitely would!Tommy: Heck yeah! Absolutely! I've been looking at some of the chats and stuff, and people sound like they want the cowboys and us. That would be so fun. I would love to do that!Andy: How about you race with your wife and I race with my wife, and we'll compete against each other?Tommy: I'm down with whatever! You're both not competing anymore, so what are you up to now?Tommy: I'm coaching with U.S. Snowboarding, so I'm out in Colorado for early season stuff. The Grand Prix is this weekend. Dew Tour is the following weekend. And just trying to stay warm out here in Colorado.Andy: I had two major shoulder surgeries six weeks ago and eight weeks ago, so I'm just healing up. I'm taking time to get the body strong again so I can do some more filming. I'm doing some commentating and some traveling.

Warners Prepares To Have An Unholy Evening

By purchasing Seth Grahame-Smith's new bookNot quite happy with mixing Jane Austen's type of brooding romance with brain-chomping zomboids or re-picturing US leader Abraham Lincoln subsequently like a staunch warrior from the vampire menace, Seth Grahame-Cruz reaches it again, this time around using the birth of Jesus and, more particularly the 3 Nobleman, inside a new direction for Holy Evening, which Warners just clicked up.It, that is set hitting shelves in April, takes the storyline from the three smart males and re-imagines them as thieves on the move who finish up helping Mary and Jesus to leave Egypt. On the way, they meet people for example Pontius Pilate and John The Baptist and, since the guy can clearly not avoid the monster tales, fight "magical Scriptural animals." Yeah, we can not forsee anybody getting an issue with using Jesus and family for the reason that way. You are able to already hear the protests in your head, can't you? Warners put lower $two million to nab the privileges, including Grahame-Cruz writing the script and creating through the KatzSmith production company he lately created with David Katzenberg.Cruz can also be behind the script for next year's Abraham Lincoln subsequently: Vampire Hunter (due in August) and Tim Burton's latest The Actor-brad Pitt joint, Dark Shadows (that certain comes to May). He's been busy creating Television shows and purchasing in the privileges to some couple of books he did not write, including youthful adult novel The Scorpio Races.

Natalie Wood, Christopher Walken's 'Brainstorm': How the Actress' Death Derailed Her Final Film (Video)

After a tense and troubled 1981 shoot, director Douglas Trumbull had almost finished shooting his sci-fi film Brainstorm, about a gizmo that records people's memories and lets others download them into their own brains, when starNatalie Wood died on a boat trip.our editor recommendsNatalie Wood Death Investigation ReopenedNatalie Wood Investigators to Examine Boat in Hawaii; Robert Wagner Not a Suspect Natalie Wood's Boat Captain Admits to Lying, Says Robert Wagner 'Responsible' for Her Death (Video)Natalie Wood Death: Christopher Walken Radio Interview a HoaxRelated Topics•Natalie Wood PHOTOS: 12 of Hollywood's Most Mysterious Deaths Also on the boat? Christopher Walken, who played her husband in Brainstorm and became emotionally close to the actress during filming, and her real-life husband, Robert Wagner. STORY: Christopher Walken Hires Lawyer to Handle Natalie Wood Investigation (Exclusive) Ironically, the film's plot turned on the death of a third character, played byLouise Fletcher, who records her own death on the device. Since Wood's performance was almost completely in the can, Trumbull eventually was able to tweak, reshoot a bit, and release the film in 1983. In a 2009 interview, Trumbull discussed his experience with trying to get the film completed after Wood's death. PHOTOS: Best Pictures of Natalie Wood" "Lo and behold Natalie Wood died in production, completely out of the blue," he told the blog Archive Seven. "I was saying, 'Holy shit!' It actually became the most difficult thing I've ever had to do - get that movie finished - and so it never really was anything it was intended to be. We had to finish it with money from the insurance company and try to get it on the screen." VIDEO: 5 of Natalie Wood's Most Memorable Roles The problems weren't related to the actress, he said. "It had nothing to do with Natalie Wood dying, really, she was already in the can, but the studio was going broke and I frankly think there was some kind of subterfuge going on to get a big insurance claim to keep the studio [MGM] going and I stood between them and the insurance claim, because it was easy to finish the film without her because she was basically done. They didn't want to hear it, so I became persona non grata at MGM. I finally got it done and then MGM management changed and I thought, 'Oh, my God, this is just going on and on and on.'" STORY: Christopher Walken Offered Natalie Wood Death Theory in Past Interview The bad experience with Brainstorm drove Trumbull, a VFX wizard who worked on 2001: A Space Odyssey and Blade Runner, out of the film business for years."Getting the movie done was extremely heartbreaking and difficult and that was when I decided I just have to get out of here. This feature film industry is just not working for me - I have to hang out my shingle doing something else," he said. After making motion-based rides like Back to the Future for Universal and smaller versions for science museums, he's back in 2011 with splashy effects supplied for Terrence Malick's The Tree of Life and a plan to direct a future 3D feature. Coinstar states it needs to finish 2011 confirming around $1.835B in revenues, lower from three several weeks ago, if this stated it might hit $1.85B. The Hollywood Reporter: What first illuminated the idea inside you to try this project? Kellow: I began reading through through Pauline Kael's reviews once i was around 13. She'd a voice that spoke in my opinion immediately. Someone said her for any very long time and committed great servings of her reviews to memory. I like to produce biographies that to some extent represent fresh territory. Setting lower Pauline's existence made an appearance as being a tremendous challenge -- therefore it was, since it switched out. The Review: Pauline Kael: A Existence at night time THR:Has there are you currently a biography from the film critic before? What about experts in other fields? What made covering a critic, somebody who by character can be a reactor, different then another subjects you've handled? Kellow: I don't understand that there is a biography from the movie critic to date. There's been biographies of theater experts -- Kathleen Tynan written a great one about her husband, Kenneth. Among the most popular areas of concentrating on Pauline Kael: A Existence at night time was the chance to trace the influences that aided form her taste and magnificence. Also, scripting this book offered us a great chance look around the film good status for that sixties and ྂs. It absolutely was exciting showing how the thing that was happening on the watch's screen really was, with a degree, Pauline's existence. THR: Aside from Pauline's launched writing, another material existed in archives or her personal collection that you ought to draw upon? Letters, journals, datebooks, etc.? Kellow: I'd great luck to get utilization of Pauline's extensive archive within the Lilly Library at Indiana College in Bloomington. It's a banking center. You will discover very handful of letters from Pauline herself, but she seems to own saved just about any letter she received -- even letters from fans and site visitors. She always mentioned she didn't need a biography written, but she certainly saw in it that her existence was completely catalogued, therefore i'm unsure For me her. EXCLUSIVE BOOK EXCERPT: How Hollywood Attracted and Abandoned Critic Pauline Kael THR: The very first existence material is particularly fascinating. How perhaps you have discover about her childhood, family, early responses to literature and flicks, her difficult associations at Berkeley and subsequent struggles before belatedly penetrating properly? Kellow: Research. I visited Petaluma, Calif., and learned a great deal in regards to the community of Jewish chicken ranchers through which she was elevated. I used to be very lucky: I came across her ex-husband, Edward Landberg, who was simply residing in Berkeley. He was her only husband, although she loved to confuse people allowing them know she'd been married three occasions. As her daughter Gina mentioned, "She loved an excellent story." I used to be very lucky in rounding up lots of people who had labored along with her when she was programming the Berkeley Cinema Guild, the nation's first twin art house. That amount of the mid- to late 19 fifties is among the most popular regions of it. THR: I never got the sense that Pauline was ever really deeply deeply in love with anybody. And the majority of the associations she did have, with males who've been essentially gay, were set-ups for disaster. How perhaps you have showed up at see view her emotional existence? Did she just sublimate other things to movies? Kellow: In my opinion Pauline reaches love in the beginning. I certainly think she was deeply deeply in love with the poet Robert Horan, who was simply gay. However think she felt, quite early, that love from a couple never made it. And let's be realistic, frequently it doesn't! In my opinion she learned in the beginning not to depend upon love. Her adoration for the flicks was another factor. They could depend on, and trust. I've tried to not hammer the whole seduction-of-the-movies idea too much for me. But there's no avoiding it. PHOTOS: Netflix's 10 Most-Leased Movies ever THR: You explain that in earlier years she was constantly writing little plays, tales, screen ideas she'd send to Hollywood and so on. Perhaps you have read lots of her creative writing throughout these areas? Was there any merit towards the from this? Any method that you should describe it? Kellow: Pauline would be the first to confess that her attempts at creative writing weren't excellent. And so they aren't. I've read carefully through all the pieces that survive. They're arch and full of ideas and attitudes, nonetheless they just don't move considerably. The figures just don't hold the breath of existence. Related Subjects Pauline Kael 1 2 next last

Lindsay Lohan Accepts Playboy Nude Pictorial Offer

This is what things have come to for actress-singer-celebrity criminal Lindsay Lohan; at the tender age of 25, as the media watches her every move, the onetime promising Disney star has reportedly agreed to pose nude for Playboy. For less than a million! Oh, LiLo. TMZ reports that Lohan, who recently came under fire for being tardy to her first day of community service at the morgue in Los Angeles, already began shooting her Playboy spread. Maybe the gig contributed to her tardiness. Technically, she was working over the weekend… and the job didn’t require her to seek employment in Europe! How convenient! From TMZ: Sources tell us the deal has been in the works for months, and that Lindsay balked at an initial $750K offer because she wanted … ONE MILLION dollars … to show the world what her momma gave her (apologies for the DiLo reference). Apologies, indeed. Remember when Lohan was young and innocent and fresh-scrubbed, and there were two of her? And one of the two of her was British? Yes, I’m talking The Parent Trap. Let’s take a trip down memory lane and remember: This was 13 years ago. How fast they grow up. [via TMZ] Follow Movieline on Twitter.

You Stated What? (Hjelp, mire er i filmbransjen!)

A Tappeluft Pictures presentation in cooperation with Star Media Entertainment of the Langfonn, Krypton Film and Filmcamp production. Created by Terje Stromstad, Kjetil Omberg. Executive producers, Friend Granlund, Henrik Bergesen, Elisabeth Granlund, Tommy Wirkola, Stig Frode Henriksen. Co-producer, Benedicte Ringnes. Directed, compiled by Nini Bull Robsam, Patrik Syversen. With: Henrik Thodesen, Odd-Magnus Williamson, Stig Frode Henriksen, Stein Johan Grieg Halvorsen, Marte Germaine Christensen, Jenny Skavlan, Christian Rubeck, Peter Stormare.Norwegian filmmakers Nini Bull Robsam and Patrik Syversen go ahead and take fundamental premise of Takashi Miike's "Audition" -- the well known 1999 horror-thriller in regards to a lonely widower who pretends to become casting a film while seeking a brand new companion -- and playfully convert it into a scenario for cheeky romantic comedy in "You Stated What?" Reviews indicate this high-concept, gently entertaining pic already has been regarded as material to have an American remake, however it could locate fairly easily its very own appreciative aud in offshore marketplaces with sufficiently savvy marketing. After finding the flagrant infidelity of his live-in girlfriend, Glenn (Henrik Thodesen), an affable vidstore clerk, moves from their apartment and sinks right into a dark blue funk. Wishing to cheer him up, his more rambunctious pals, brought through the persistantly wise-alecky Philip (Odd-Magnus Williamson, in "Meatballs"-era Bill Murray mode), encourage Glenn to gain access to a webpage from Takashi Miike and hold auditions to have an imaginary movie, with the hope of landing, otherwise a brand new love, then some easy sex. Complications arise when Glenn instantly falls for among the auditioners, Linda (Marte Germaine Christensen), and promises her a lead role with what he unwisely promises is going to be a legendary fantasy adventure. (Think "The almighty from the Rings" on the "Plan 9 From SpaceInch budget.) The issue here is, despite Linda's well-do-to mother onboard like a quiet investor, Glenn and the buddies are difficult pressed to really to create the epic -- or other pic -- especially once they blow the majority of the budget on pre-production hanging out. Because the would-be filmmakers proceed on the frazzled-shoestring budget, bringing in credulous collaborators and frantically disguising their lack of experience, "You Stated What?" frequently recalls the greater frantic improvisations from the title character in Tim Burton's "Erectile dysfunction Wood." And far because the self-fooling schlockmeister of Burton's pic depended around the collaboration of the aged Bela Lugosi, the faux auteurs here wager everything on settling a 1-day cameo by Peter Stormare to create their slapdash project a little more marketable. Filmmakers Robsam and Syversen artfully juggle a diversity of tones and emotions while playing mostly everything for laughs, even fine-tuning the romance that's the soft center of the pic having a soundtrack of wonderfully cheesy '70s and 1980s pop hits. You will find darkly comic touches, and a couple of gags that, within this context, appear almost subversively perverse. There is however nothing more amusing compared to gleefully crazy scene by which the overall game Stormare keeps a straight face along with a menacing attitude while carefully balancing themself atop a papier-mache dragon and snarling, "I'm the King of Darkness!" Tech credits overall are a lot more impressive than come in the film inside the film.Camera (color, HD), Havard Andre Byrkjeland editor, Syversen music, Gaute Tonder production designer, Liv Request costume designer, Linn Henriksen seem, Hakon Lammetun assistant director, Jonas Viken Oby. Watch Peter Jackson's 'Tipsy' Tintin Screen Test

When Steven Spielberg and Peter Jackson presented some of the first footage from their epic mo-cap collaboration The Adventures of Tintin: The Secret of the Unicorn to this summer’s Comic-Con audience, they also shared the film’s “first motion-capture test” — a cute video in which Jackson nervously auditions for the role of Captain Haddock with a bottle of Jack Daniels in hand. Now, the audition video is available for everyone to see via a new Tintin featurette. Of course the part of Captain Haddock ultimately went to Andy Serkis. But it’s cute seeing the two filmmakers giddily discuss their excitement over the project and their genuine passion for the Herg character. Now, if only we could get some behind-the-scenes video of cast member Daniel Craig in his humiliating leotard and helmet, we’d be happy. Until then, we’ll just have to settle for Jamie Bell in the mo-cap garb. [HitFix]

Trailer: Hostel 3 Really Does Look Like Torture

The Hostel films have never been especially distinguished paragons of the horror genre, just a bunch of stupid, sadistic bullshit for its own sake that plunged in box-office viability by more than 60 percent between its first and second installments. Still, that means it might be good for a few million bucks in the DVD market, so here’s Hostel Part III — straight to video, and straight to hell. This time around (via The Playlist), we find our hapless victims in waiting at the card tables and strip joints of Vegas — a far cry from the Eastern European deathtraps — like, actual hostels — of Eli Roth’s earlier films. Basically, imagine if The Hangover had taken the torture-porn route. Actually, no. Imagine kicking the executives responsible for Hostel Part III in the nuts for the full runtime of this piece of shit. Actually, no. Just call in sick and go back to bed. This cat knows exactly what I’m talking about:

The Steve Jobs Factor, and 5 Other Stories You'll Be Talking About Today

Happy Thursday! Also in today’s edition of The Broadsheet: James Bond’s 23rd may have a title… Octavia Spencer could deal for Diablo Cody… Javier Bardem may return to villainy (animation-style)… And the Nobel literature winner is… and more. · Steve Jobs — Apple co-founder, Pixar patron saint and all-around visionary — lost his battle with pancreatic cancer Wednesday at age 56. Countless tributes followed, with everyone from George Lucas to Mark Zuckerberg to Steven Spielberg and many more paying their respects. Apple invited comments from the public at rememberingsteve@apple.com. Filmmakers cited his influence on digital editing (and thus much of the last decade of microbudget and independent cinema). Nikki Finke speculated about a biopic. And it’s only getting started for arguably the most influential American of the last quarter-century. Thoughts? [NYT] · Here’s some pretty compelling evidence that the next, Sam Mendes-directed James Bond film will be titled Skyfall: 15 domain-name registrations linking the franchise, the title and Sony Pictures. Do with that that what you will. [Fusible via THR] · Just when you thought Javier Bardem could never possibly have a more frightening bad-guy visage than he did in No Country For Old Men, the Oscar-winner is in discussions to voice the villain in the imminent sequel to Universal’s animated hit Despicable Me. [THR] · Oscar hopeful Octavia Spencer may join Diablo Cody’s untitled directorial debut (formerly known as Lamb of God) as a casino card dealer; Julianne Hough and Russell Brand also star. [Variety] · Today in migraine-inducing bullshit, how about this: “Reality star John Devenanzio, who says he is popularly known in the entertainment world as Johnny Bananas, has gone ahead with threats and sued the producers of the recently completed HBO series, Entourage.” Because apparently there was a bit character last season named Johnny Bananas. Or something. Maybe this is what really killed Steve Jobs: The idea that the culture he helped steward to unprecedented levels of creativity and access could be even momentarily hijacked by a “remarkably vague” lawsuit from a guy who calls himself Johnny Bananas. Think about it. [THR, Esq.] · Those homers at the Nobel Institute awarded this year’s literature prize to Swedish compatriot Tomas Transtromer, the 80-year-old poet also known as “the Susan Lucci of the Nobels” for his decade-plus wait for recognition. Amazing Race's Ethan and Jenna: We Prefer Survivor

Ethan and Jenna Former Survivor champs Ethan Zohn and Jenna Morasca emerged very short around the Amazing Race 19, becoming among the first two teams to find the boot within the show's first double elimination. The axing, ironically, came on the leg that involved charitable organisation. "I believe should you needed to locate one positive thing that happened is it was okay that people left giving money to charitable organisation," Zohn, who co-founded the nonprofit Grassroot Soccer that encourages Aids/Helps education, informs TVGuide.com. The relaxation from the Indonesian leg demonstrated to become a nightmare for that couple, who had been hampered with a bad cabbie and also the stealth clue in the orphanage following the Detour. Will they think the twist was fair? See the things they say:Amazing Race's Phil Keoghan: We now have probably the most competitive cast yetYou were in eighth place the majority of the leg, which is sufficient to manage. Where made it happen all fail? Whenever you left the clue in the Detour? In the orphanage?Jenna: Funny enough because it is, our cab driver got us very, very, very lost about each time i was within the cab. We wasted a minimum of an hour or so . 5 driving within the cab. We needed to have a similar driver the entire day, therefore we were really screwed. ... Which was our No. 1 reservation starting the race - heading out due to something from our control, and that is precisely what happened. ... [We could not change cabs] since there were not any on the street. I'm not sure whether it works in a different way there, like you need to demand them, however it wasn't like NY City. ... And also the clue - it had been simply with a pile of garments. It had been literally about a minute from the cab. It did not affect [the end result] whatsoever. What have you think about the additional clue in the orphanage?Jenna: It had been interesting to possess a clue say one factor and also the sign say another. On our clue, it stated to show in most the cash you elevated for that orphanage. I believed that meant our foreign money, therefore we completed our foreign money, the money we had not elevated. We simply stored our very couple of U.S. dollars, that was like $20. We did not know around the race they would provide you with a clue should you did a problem. [Laughs] But when they are offering clues whenever you do stuff wrong, it's difficult to determine should you choose a problem or right.Ethan: [It was for] drama. I suppose it had been to confuse us. I am talking about, when eight from 11 teams obtain a clue wrong, it's tricky. Usually in a other situation, whenever you perform a challenge properly, you receive a clue.Which means you did not have any extra clue after handing within the relaxation of the money?Ethan: No. We essentially went to the orphanage, gave them the relaxation and went completely back [towards the Pit Stop]. ... It had been most likely miles . 5.The additional clue wasn't in Race colors. Do you consider this is exactly why lots of you did not notice it?Ethan: Yeah, it had been just on the whitened sheet of paper inside a frame. You take inside, all of the orphans are singing and they are entertaining for you personally, and you are in this hurry that you are basing your final decision around the clue that you are given, therefore we completed all of our converted money, got an idea and went towards the pad.Jenna: Yeah, and so everybody knows, it had not been underlined also it wasn't layed out in red-colored. I understand that individuals saw that on television, but that is not the way we first viewed it.Drop Preview: Get scoop on all of your favorite coming back showsYou reached the Pit Stop the very first time in ninth place. Are you aware in which you were at that time?Ethan: I was really in eighth. They demonstrated the Las vegas showgirls checking in before us, that was not accurate.Jenna: Yeah, and that we did not fully realize where i was, but we had Ernie and Cindy, and also the twins running back. Ethan was like, "We must've done a problem.Inch But we did not [speak with them] because you are in this hurry you don't have time for you to breathe, which means you just run as quickly as you are able to. And that we were creating an enormous time deficit due to our cab, therefore we most likely composed twenty minutes from the hour and half an hour i was behind due to the cab. ... By running full speed, i was most likely a few minutes behind [Amani and Marcus] ultimately.[Editor's note: Kaylani and Lisa, the Las vegas showgirls, were proven coming in tenth. Laurence and Zac were proven coming in eighth.]Do you consider the twist was fair?Jenna: I do not think it's fair to possess two different clues. I'm not sure. I am talking about, I'd rather not seem like sour grapes, so, yeah, it had been fair. [Laughs] The fans can decide upon themselves.Ethan: Obtain an idea after which another clue when you are getting there's interesting. You desired to cover that you simply were on Survivor since you felt that will cause you to a large target, but have you think teams wouldn't recognize you? Jenna: No, we figured they'd recognize us and that we figured when they did, we'd just understate it making it not this type of large deal and say it had been a very long time ago. ... We spoken to everyone about this. Whenever we remained overnight at China Airways, we rested near the twins and Marcus and Amani, and that we virtually spoken the entire evening.Ethan: When nobody was permitted to speak to one another with no one understood one another prior to the race began, clearly, we are thinking individuals are thinking of getting you lower and everyone's searching one another over. But when the race began and that we met everybody, we did not think we'd as large of the target.Satisfy the Amazing Race 19 castHow badly did you need to win the Race after getting won Survivor? Jenna: I believe we simply desired to use and perform the better if we're able to and have fun following the past couple of years [with Ethan's cancer fight], do not yell at one another too badly on camera, that we don't believe we did. And that is the very best we're able to do. It is a completely different game and there's lots of stuff from your control around the race. I favor to experience reality shows where I've with additional control over things. [Laughs]Which means you prefer Survivor within the Amazing Race?Jenna: Yeah!Ethan: [Laughs] Me too. I am talking about, I have always stated being lost in overseas when you are tired and hungry and broke and should not speak the word what is my worst fear in existence. And that is just what the race is. There's so much from your control. That's among the greatest perils of playing a game title such as this. It's funny that's type of what winding up getting us from the race.Jenna, you may not have Medusa eyes?Jenna: [Laughs] Yeah, I actually do. I had been putting on my colored contacts too, but yeah, I actually do have Medusa eyes. I love that. I am really likely to print that on the T-shirt. Thanks, Ernie! What exactly are you so far?Jenna: We are carrying this out show known as Everyday Health on ABC. The show is certainly going very well. We are getting such great feedback about this. We'll be filming that for the following handful of days which will run until Feb. We are focusing on a magazine, we are focusing on our very own reality show. We signed this awesome sponsorship deal that we'll be telling everyone about within the next week approximately, which we are super looking forward to. So situations are going very well.

Fox Exploring Asimov's Cave Of Steel

Robo panic spreads.... Given that 20th Century Fox found solid success with I, Robot a few years ago and has also seen science fiction provide a healthy windfall via Avatar, it's not surprising that the studio would be looking to make more of it. So combining the source of one with the large-scale ambition of the other would seem to make sense, and Fox is now moving forward on an adaptation of Isaac Asimov's The Caves of Steel. Steel was original published by Asimov in 1954 and is set 1,000 years in the future. Naturally, Earth has become an overcrowded mess and many humans live in the constructed, titular city complexes. This being Asimov, there are robots around, but mankind has become suspicious of their metallic brethren and the machines are illegal on Earth. Rich types colonising other worlds have no such fears and an ambassador from one of the "spacer" planets arrives on Earth to try to convince the rest of us to relax the restrictions. And gets killed... Cue an investigation that sees a detective partnered with a humanoid 'bot! With Fox favourite Simon Kinberg overseeing things as producer, the studio is trusting this one to first-time director Henry Hobson, usually to be found crafting titles and credit for movies. He's getting set to make Maggie, the tale of a teenager who turns into a zombie across six weeks while still living with her family. That film sees him working alongside satellite engineer-turned-writer John Scott, who will also write the Asimov adaptation.

'Machine Gun Preacher' Earns Its Explosive Title, Stars Say

As we could tell from the trailer, Marc Forster's "Machine Gun Preacher" isn't one of those overwrought, melodramatic, "based on a true story," feel good films. According to stars Gerard Butler and Michelle Monaghan, what sets it apart from the pack is the fact that it is about a flawed hero who finds his true calling through a violent, intense, and inspiring journey. "This isnt a story you hear every single day," Monaghan told MTV news. "Hes sort of a hero but a flawed hero, and thats exactly what the title entails. As you read the story you realize the journey this man has been on." "What I found fascinating is that this man really turned his life around and that one person can make a difference," she continued. "You hear so often, 'What difference can one person make?', or that [philanthropic work] is for people who have always been good in their life and hes not. He s been on this journey and its a real example to everyone." With regard to what the title of the film says about the story, Butler said it's explosive, but in several ways. "I think its definitely a way to attract somebodys attention," he said. "The story has all that explosiveness because there is a lot of action in there, hes lived a very adventurous and exciting life, but theres so much more so to the story, the relations between a husband and wife, what toll does that take with his family as he neglects them, his journey in Africa, journey against his own personal demons. Theres so much in there that I think it earns the title, 'Machine Gun Preacher.'" What do you think of the real life story? Tell us in the comments or on Twitter!

I believe Sam Peckinpah is one of the greatest filmmakers of all time, and I hold him in high regard. We simply share a different philosophy on human beings."Pic's James Marsden recalled meeting Dustin Hoffman, star of the 1971 original, at an Oscar party. He was scared to speak to him. Disconnect, meanwhile, is definitely an ensemble affair, where the Batester will co-star with Alexander Skarsgard, Frank Grillo, Andrea Riseborough, Colin Ford and Michael Nyqvist. The particulars to date are somewhat nebulous, however it apparently involves various figures being affected and perhaps destroyed through the internet along with other types of modern communication . This a person's directed by Henry-Alex Rubin, 1 / 2 of the creative team behind the motorized wheel chair rugby documentary Murderball (younger crowd shot second unit on Cop Land and Girl, Interrupted). The 2 films will shoot back-to-in October and November, before Bateman heads to Studioland for that ID Thievery (with Melissa McCarthy) and also the Insane Laws and regulations (with Vince Vaughn).
