Ealing accumulates 'Goddess'

LONDON -- Ealing Metro Intl. has acquired Australian musical comedy "Goddess" for worldwide sales. "Goddess," that is in publish-production, stars British stage star Laura Michelle Kelly in her own initial film role being an isolated housewife who turns into a singing sensation on the web. Her existence becomes a web-based cleaning soap opera as her new-found worldwide fame clashes using the demands of her family. Irish pop star Ronan Keating also makes his screen debut as her husband. Directed and co-compiled by Mark Lamprell, pic is created by Richard Keddie and Andrena Finlay, with musical direction from Judy Morris, co-director of "Happy Ft." It's backed by Village Roadshow, that is planning for a wide release next summer time in New zealand and australia. Kelly won an Olivier award within the U.K. on her lead performance in Cameron Mackintosh's stage revival of "Mary Poppins." Her only previous screen role is at Tim Burton's "Sweeney Todd."
